Meeka

Deep within a lush jungle, there were 2 female lion cubs named Meeka and Radhiya born at dawn on a monday at the same time. They were the most beautiful lions that all the animals in the jungle have ever seen. Their mothers took pride in them and watched them as they slowly grew.

One day, while they were playing, Meeka asked Radhiya "What do you want to be when you grow up?"
Radhiya was then playing with a tree branch and stopped, surprised with that question. She looked at Meeka and answered "To be like my mother ofcourse." Then she returned her attention back to the tree branch she was playing with.
Meeka was not content with her reply and proceeded to ask "Why?"
Radhiya was a bit bothered and frowned "Because that's the way things are supposed to be." she replied.
Meeka noticed that she was a bit irritated by her questions, but couldn't resist asking one more "Why are things supposed to be that way?"
Radhiya was annoyed and stopped playing with the tree branch. She turned to Meeka and said "Because they said so."
She had completely lost interest in the tree branch and said "Meeka, I'm going back to my mother now. Let's just play tomorrow."
Meeka said nothing and watched Radhiya walk away. She was not offended and instead she wondered why Meeka got irritated when she simply asked sensible questions.
So Meeka set out to explore since her playmate left. She intended to find answers to her questions somewhere.

While Meeka was walking, she looked up to the trees and was mometarily blinded by a patch of sunlight the peeked through. She stopped in her tracks, closed her eyes and enjoyed the warmth offered by the sun. She thought of her mother. She remembered the time she asked about the sun. She asked why there was a sun and her mother told her that there was a sun because the sun provided the light and warmth during the day.
Suddenly, an animal rammed into her. She feel to her side and was startled.
"I'm only a cub!" She cried out.
The animal was Nyack, her friend tiger.
He started laughing and said " Sorry, little Meeka didn't mean to shove you that hard. I only meant to surprise you."
"Oh, Nyack! It's you." Meeka said when she found that it was her friend. She ran to him and started licking his face.
"Hehe! Hold on little one. What brings you to this part of the jungle? It's a bit far from home isn't it?"
Meeka stopped licking his face and explained what happened.
Nyack just smiled and said "You're very different from all the other cubs and you will grow up to be a great Lion."
Meeka did not understand what he said and asked "Why did you say that?"
"You will understand it in due time little Meeka. Listen to your spirit, even if other animals tell you otherwise."
Meeka was struggling to understand what Nyack said and when Nyack saw the expression on her face, he laughed.
"Little Meeka, little Meeka. Sometimes I think you could've been my cub. Such an inquisitive mind and good heart."
"Nyack, please explain. I don't understand." She pleaded.
He only smiled and said "Come on you sweet little thing. I'll take you home."
